About this event

In this high energy, challenging, indoor event, teams must design and build a series of bridges.

The only materials they can use are a cardboard box and a selection of non–perishable food items! After the event, the food is donated to a charity / community organisation of your choice, thus creating a neat opportunity to ‘build bridges’ with your local community.

Each team (4-6 people per team) must complete four bridge designs (long, strong, tall and beautiful) within the allocated time. It is fast-paced and helter-skelter, as they work to complete each bridge, have it checked by the CluedUp team to ensure it meets the required specifications and then have it performance tested. Teams earn points for length, strength, height and aesthetic beauty.

While they build bridges, teams can also earn extra points by taking part in an on-going quiz, purchase additional building materials from the ‘shop’ or bid for highly sort after resources in ‘auctions’ that take place throughout the build phase.

The event concludes with a prize-giving with prizes for the best bridge in each category and the announcement of the overall winner. This can also involve a representative of your chosen charity being present to receive the donated items.

Client review

"Thanks so much for yesterday. It was a great activity and we were able to keep building on it for the rest of the day. Our staff really appreciated the link between the activity and the theme for the day. The activity was meaningful and lots of fun — not always an easy combination to pull off."
